More than 12.90 lakh COVID-19 tests conducted in a day in India

New Delhi: More than 12.90 lakh COVID-19 tests were conducted in India in a span of 24 hours, stated the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Thursday.

A total of 12,90,900 samples were tested on Wednesday to check for the presence of the coronavirus. Overall, 60,44,98,405 tests have been conducted in the country thus far.

The country logged 13,451 fresh COVID-19 cases in the 24-hour period, reported the Health Ministry on Wednesday. The active caseload in the country stood at 1,62,661, the lowest in 242 days.

Meanwhile, 103.53 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under nationwide vaccination program till now.
